Ca's Xorc

Ca's Xorc is the most beautiful spot in Mallorca I have visited yet; its 18th Century build and luxuriously rustic style keep on calling me back for just one more visit. As soon as you break out of the long tunnel under the vast mountainous range, you are welcomed by a fresh mountainous breeze that rolls off the hills. The ripe and delicious looking olive groves rustle in the breeze and lead the way through small, rustic villages and mountain roads.

As soon as you start the ascent into Deià you are spoilt by the scenery, and you realise you have just arrived at the perfect setting. Away from the heat of the city, and far enough away from the clubs and noise of Magaluf. The sharp turning up the winding road to arrive at your destination is even more inspiring, as the endless orange and lemon trees guide you along the steep corners, urging you forward.

40 minutes after leaving the airport we are finally confronted with the beauty of Ca's Xorc. The taxi driver drops us at the entrance, with the detailed wrought iron gate ahead of us. It's not the first time I've been here, but even so, I still feel in awe of the place; its beauty and grandeur. Stepping into the grounds there's the ornate garden that immediately catches your attention, with its purples and reds of the flowers cascading round fences, spilling into the outdoor restaurant. Guests sit out at tables in the shade on the stone clad patio, sipping on fresh, strong coffee whilst soaking in the view of the vast hills and olive groves below. In the distance you can spy the sea at Sóller, awaiting you in a few days time (only after you've really had the chance to fully experience Ca's Xorc). The outdoor restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy one of Ca's Xorc's finest Gin & Tonics or a crisp glass of dry rose in the afternoon sun.

I have only ever visited Ca's Xorc with family but it is clear to see that this is a remarkably romantic setting, perfect for honeymoons and couples' retreats. With every visit I have made I have discovered something new in Ca's Xorc's grounds that fascinate me every time. The lemon and orange trees are an immediate pull to the charm of Ca's Xorc. The Mallorquin house has hidden rooms and treasures waiting to be found, but best of all is the infinity pool awaiting the guests each morning.

Just a short walk away, down the cobbled steps, past the bright reds and purples on either side, you make it to the infinity pool where the water gleams, and the smell of lavender and rosemary float over, mingling with the mountain breeze and brushing over you. The view over the pool is breathtaking and once you're there, there's no getting away. All you can now do for the rest of the day, if not your whole stay, is pull up one of the sun loungers and snooze with olive groves sloping down the hills all around and sparkling water screaming for a quick dip. Donkeys bray in the distance and the comforting ring of bells round the necks of meandering sheep, gently lulls you into a peaceful sleep, along with the help of that G&T earlier. Ahhh bliss!
